Our vision is to make safe and remediate the former Hartshead Power Station and Millbrook Sidings Site to improve the environment and facilities for wider public benefit, to create a unique community owned Park with new and enhanced facilities and opportunities for public access and outdoor pursuits. An integral part of our vision is to put in place a permanent and sustainable plan to manage the area and enhance the woodland, as well as formalised access, footpaths, and appropriate facilities and amenities.
Our proposals will draw on the Site’s key assets, such as the river and canal, its rich industrial heritage, and its strong sense of place to create a valuable asset for the local community. We also believe the new amenity will support the ambitious plans to transform Stalybridge and meet Tameside’s targets for improving well-being and the health of its residents.
